How Do I Put My Gear and Clothing Into the Swap?

  1. Download and print this two-page form.
  2. Fill it out as best you can before you come to Alpine Shop Kirkwood or Columbia. (It will save everyone a lot of time.)
  3. Beginning the Saturday before Swap–and continuing through the day (Thursday) before Swap–bring the completed paperwork and the items you’re looking to sell to one of the locations above. Check-in times are 11 am to 5 pm at our Kirkwood and Columbia locations. NOTE: Sunday, Columbia opens check-in at noon.
  4. Complete any remaining information on the contract. Don’t know what to price an item? We will assist you as best we can. Please remember, this is a swap event. Most sales occur on items priced around or below 50% of general retail prices.
  5. Check out the sale prices on hundreds of items throughout the store while you’re there!
  6. Sit back and wait for your product to sell.

Swap Ended on Sunday. Now What?

We will use the Monday after Swap to organize all of the remaining Swap product and to tabulate all of the Swap sales.

Beginning at 10 am on the Tuesday following Swap:

  1. We will begin fielding calls at Alpine Shop Kirkwood (314-962-7715) to check on whether your items sold or not. You can also come in to the store to check on your items’ status, as well.
  2. We will not begin writing checks and issuing credits until 10 am on Tuesday. Please do not request payment or check on items sold before then.

By the end of our business day on the Wednesday following Swap, you will need to:

  1. Claim your payment and/or any unsold items in the store. Any unclaimed payments after that date will be mailed in the form of either store-credit or check (depending on which you indicate at registration) to the address you provided us during check-in. You can expect to receive payment in the mail within three weeks of the event.
  2. Pick up any items that did not sell. Items not picked up by that time will be donated to a charity of our choosing. Please understand, we do not have room to store your gear once the tent is down.
